ERC Junior

ERC Junior explained
Since its introduction in 2014, FIA ERC Junior has helped to grow the careers of 67 drivers. And now it's gettng restructured for 2017 to provide the ultimate career progression opportunity for drivers aiming to reach the very top of the sport. Rather than one championshp, there are now two separate championships based on age and car performance.

ERC Junior U27, which totals six events, is for drivers born on or after 1 January 1990 competing in R2 cars on Pirelli tyres. With the best four rounds counting, the winner will receive a career progression fund worth 100,000 euros to use in ERC Junior U28 in 2018.

ERC Junior U28 offers the next step on the rallying pyramid for drivers born on or after 1 January 1989. Again totalling six rounds with the best four scores counting, drivers use R5 cars with no restriction on tyre choice. The champion will get a drive on a European round of the 2018 FIA World Rally Championship as a P1 driver in a 2016-specification World Rally Car. The incredible opportunity provides a platform to showcase their talent in a global arena, while gaining a vital understanding of rallying’s top tier.

ERC Junior Experience
And there's more. Young prospects can start out by enrolling into the ERC Junior Experience to learn vital skills and gain crucial knowledge alongside their national programmes, before entering the ERC Junior U27 Championship as their first major international campaign.

The ERC Junior Experience, which enters its second season in 2017, was devised by ERC promoter Eurosport Events and is managed by All In Motion’s Evelien Deschuytter, an expert in equipping people with the attributes they need to succeed in their chosen field. Four training events are held in conjunction with rounds of the ERC. The curriculum covers pacenote preparation, diet, physical training, social media dos and don’ts, car set-up, first aid response, tyre changing, sponsorship acquisition and driving technique on asphalt and gravel. Participants also undertake the reconnaissance for the ERC rallies in Gran Canaria, Czech Republic, Italy and Latvia with no entry fee charged and get free registration for the 2018 ERC Junior U27 Championship. The ERC Junior Experience is open to drivers and co-drivers and more information including details of fees, registration procedure and other benefits is available from Evelien Deschuytter by emailing or by calling +32 473990342.
