TEAM OSCARO’S LOUBET KEEN TO PUSH IN ERC JUNIOR
Pierre-Louis Loubet plans to capitalise on his impressive showing during his home round of the world championship earlier this month when he contests Rally Islas Canarias for the first time. The Team OSCARO-supported Frenchman set a number of impressive stage times in his BRC Racing Team Hyundai i20 R5. HEY LLARENA! RFEDA STAR FLIES RALLY TEAM SPAIN FLAG IN ERC JUNIOR
Efrén Llarena will fly the Rally Team Spain flag when he continues his FIA ERC Junior Under 27 bid on Rally Islas Canarias. Embarking on his first international campaign as his prize for winning the Beca Junior R2 crown in his native Spain last season, Llarena has been on impressive form already with second place in the Azores behind winner and category leader Diogo Gago. BROŽ TO CARRY ACCR CZECH TEAM HOPES ALONE IN ERC
Dominik Brož will carry the ACCR Czech Team’s hopes alone when the FIA ERC Junior Under 28 Championship resumes on Rally Islas Canarias. Brož is embarking on his second season as member of the Czech federation squad in the European championship in a Pirelli-equipped PEUGEOT 208 R2. And with team-mate Jan Černý unable to take part in the next-step ERC Junior Under 28 Championship due to engine supply issues, Brož will be the squad’s sole representative in Las Palmas. AZORES ERC JUNIOR SUCCESS KEEPS GAGO ON TRACK
Diogo Gago has revealed how his FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship victory on the Azores Airlines Rallye has helped him to be at the start of this week’s Rally Islas Canarias. MORE STAR NAMES LINE UP FOR ERC JUNIOR UNDER 28 ACTION
Nikolay Gryazin, José Suárez and Aleks Zawada will join the FIA ERC Junior Under 28 ranks when the category for young stars in R5 cars resumes on Rally Islas Canarias. But while Gryazin and Suárez have ERC Junior U28 experience from their impressive exploits in 2017, Zawada is stepping up from ERC Junior U27 – where he challenged for the title in 2017 – to drive a top-of-the-range R5 car – a Hyundai i20 R5 – in competition for the first time. HOKKANEN MAKES SAINTÉLOC ERC JUNIOR MOVE
Miika Hokkanen will complete his maiden FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship campaign with the Saintéloc Junior Team. The Finnish R2 champion began the season with Oktan Sport but will make his asphalt debut on next month’s Rally Islas Canarias in a PEUGEOT 208 R2 run under the guidance of Saintéloc Team Manager Vincent Ducher. NEW SPONSOR, ACROPOLIS START FOR GREEK ERC ROUND
The Greek round of the FIA European Rally Championship will get a new title sponsor and start under the ancient Acropolis of Athens citadel as part of exciting plans for 2018. Counting as the third event of the all-action ERC season from 1-3 June, the legendary gravel contest will be known as the EKO Acropolis Rally in deference to support from the petrol station network. FURUSETH PLOTS ERC JUNIOR CAMPAIGN
