KAJETANOWICZ TO USE ERC EXPERIENCE FOR NEXT BIG CHALLENGE
Kajetan Kajetanowicz will use all the experience he gained winning the FIA European Rally Championship for a record three seasons running when he steps up to the world championship on Rally Italia Sardegna next month. The ERC provides the ultimate platform for drivers graduating from national level aiming for the sport’s highest echelon with Caig Breen, Esapekka Lappi, Kris Meeke, Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak among those with ERC experience competing in the WRC. BRYNILDSEN TARGETS ERC ACROPOLIS PODIUM
Eyvind Brynildsen wants to be in the lead battle when the FIA European Rally Championship resumes on the EKO Acropolis Rally from 1-3 June. Speaking following his impressive run to ninth place on Rally Islas Canarias – his first outing since October 2016 and his first appearance on Tarmac in five years – Brynildsen has high hopes when the ERC heads to Greece next month. FAST ERC JUNIOR TIMES PLEASE MUNNINGS, IMPRESS TEAM
Catie Munnings produced arguably her best performance so far in the FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship with a succession of fast times on the final day of Rally Islas Canarias. The 20-year-old Briton, who still lacks experience compared to her rivals, was much closer to the category frontrunners than ever before to underline her potential for the Saintéloc Junior Team. BEST BREAKFAST KEY TO SESKS’ ERC PACE ON TARMAC DEBUT
Mārtiņš Sesks belied his absence of asphalt experience to come within 10 seconds of FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship victory on Rally Islas Canarias. Sesks had never competed on Tarmac before his trip to Gran Canaria but shrugged off that potential handicap to finish runner-up to Diogo Gago by 8.9s following an intense fight for class honours in his Opel ADAM R2. DESIGN STUDENTS ENJOY ERC VISIT
Two students from a communication school in Paris were rewarded for their work on a logo design concept with a trip to the second round of the FIA European Rally Championship earlier this month. Constance Raillard and Anissa Abbar won a competition to design a logo for an internal project at Eurosport Events, the ERC promoter. Click for full story.

LATE DRAMA DENIES HERCZIG MORE ERC POINTS
Norbert Herczig has revealed how a puncture in the closing stages of Rally Islas Canarias cost him a seemingly certain second consecutive points finish in the FIA European Rally Championship. The MOL Racing Team driver was heading for eighth place on his Rally Islas Canarias debut when a puncture on stage 13 dropped him back to an eventual P11 at the finish in Las Palmas.
