THE DAY AHEAD IN THE ERC
The start of the EKO Acropolis Rally, round three of the FIA European Rally Championship, is getting closer with Free Practice due to begin at 13h30 local time today followed by the Qualifying Stage at 16h18. The fastest 15 drivers in qualifying will select their starting positions for Friday’s two stages from 19h00 in the Service Park in Lamia. All the action will be broadcast live on ERC Radio. ERC2 LEADER REMENNIK BRACED FOR TOUGH ACROPOLIS
Sergei Remennik will defend his lead of the FIA European Rally Championship’s ERC2 category when the EKO Acropolis Rally takes place from 31 May-3 June. But given the tough and demanding nature of the Lamia-based event, Remennik is braced for a tough time in his Russian Performance Motorsport-entered Mitsubishi Lancer. Click for full story.

EXPERIENCE SEARCH: NORDGREN SET FOR ERC DEBUT
Juuso Nordgren is the latest young talent aiming to grow his experience of international competition by registering for the FIA European Rally Championship. Finn Nordgren, 21, will contest this week’s EKO Acropolis Rally in a ŠKODA Fabia R5. Click for full story.

HEAT IS ON AS ERC DRIVERS PREPARE FOR SWELTERING ACROPOLIS
Drivers contesting the EKO Acropolis Rally will do so in ambient temperatures exceeding more than 30 degrees centigrade. Local forecasts suggest the temperature will peak at 32 degrees centigrade on Friday and Saturday with the temperature during Sunday’s closing leg reaching 26 degrees centigrade. While the focus of FIA European Rally Championship drivers and teams is on the EKO Acropolis Rally this week, the Cyprus Rally will offer a similar tough test when it takes place from 15-17 June Organisers have revealed a 13-stage itinerary over a timed distance of 208.14 kilometres.
